Product Description Fig. 10 mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye from 10 mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye Sigma 10 mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye This gives creativity another piece of freedom. The Sigma 10mm fisheye lens is designed for users with an unusual view and for experimental photographers. Panoramic photography is also not unaffected by this lens. You can quickly create high-quality all-round views. The enormous depth of field allows you to take impressive close-up shots that capture the subject, as well as the subject's surroundings The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) gives you fast, silent autofocus that you can manually intervene at any time. The fisheye lens is equipped with a fixed tulip-shaped lens hood to prevent stray light. The Sigma Fisheye 10 mm F2.8 EX DC HSM offers an extremely large diagonal viewing angle of up to 180° in the Nikon version (Sigma 154° and Canon 167°). It is optimized for use on digital SLR cameras with image sensors in APS-C format and allows the extreme perspective and distortion typical of fisheye lenses. The high light intensity of F2.8 delivers a bright viewfinder image and allows shooting in poor lighting conditions. With the small minimum distance of only 13.5 cm, shots up to a scale of 1:3.3 are possible, with the object only 1.8 cm in front of the front lens. The Sigma SML (Super Multi Layer) coating minimises reflections and ghosting and ensures a balanced colour balance. The built-in lens hood prevents stray light from entering the side. On the back of the lens, a filter drawer allows you to insert gelatin filters. - Unique design. Exclusive quality, non-slip design, elegant finish - these are the features of our professional rail. The EX symbol characterizes our sophisticated lens series. In addition to the high quality standard, these products are characterised by exclusive focal length ranges and high light intensities. The excellent performance features of Sigma EX lenses, uncompromising design, perfect handling and excellent durability meet the demands of photographers at the highest level. EX lenses - the better choice. - APS-C sensor suitable. Example image of 10 mm F2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye First of all, the coating technology and the construction of the DC lenses, whose calculations are based on digital demands, largely prevent light reflections from the sensor on the backward objective lens. In addition, the DC lenses offer impressive image quality despite their low weight and compact size, which meets the demands of digital SLR cameras. These lenses are limited to the angle of view that is only used by most DSLR cameras anyway – to the angle of view of the cameras with a sensor size in the so-called APS-C format. The sensors of most digital SLR cameras are smaller than the 35mm film with its 24x36mm format and have the dimensions of the APS-C film format. Therefore, you cannot use the DC lenses on a full-frame digital camera or an analogue film camera. They inevitably received shadows in the corners of the picture. By limiting the image angle to this APS-C format, it is possible to achieve a considerable image performance with reasonable design effort. The less complex design affects the size and weight of the DC lenses. The lower effort ensures significant cost savings, which we pass on to our customers. With our DCs you get powerful lenses at extremely attractive prices. When DC series lenses are used on 35mm SLR cameras or digital cameras whose image sensors are larger than APS-C format, vignetting occurs in the image. - One motor with speed. HSM lenses use a motor driven by ultrasonic waves. This technology gives you a very fast, accurate and almost silent mode of automatic focus. Two different types of HSM ultrasonic drive are used in our lenses. On the one hand, the HSM ring motor, which is mainly installed in the high-quality EX lenses. This HSM drive allows you to manually intervene in the AF operation at any time. On the other hand, an HSM micromotor is mainly used in compact lenses, the so-called all-round zoom lenses. Manual intervention in AF operation is not possible. MTF chart - please click on image to enlarge MTF modulation transfer function. The MTF (modulation transfer function) is one of the measuring methods with which the performance of a lens and its contrast behavior can be determined at different spatial frequencies. The horizontal axis expresses in millimetres the distance of the centre of the image to the edge of the picture, the vertical axis expresses the contrast value (highest value is 1). The information for 10 lines/mm reflects the contrast behavior of the lens (red lines), the values for 30 lines/mm express the resolution (green lines), each with the aperture open. Lines that run parallel to the image circle diameter are called sagittal lines (solid line), transverse lines are called tangential lines (dashed line). Amazon.com Designed for use with Canon digital SLR cameras equipped with APS-C size image sensors, the Sigma 10mm f/2.8 fisheye lens offers a uniquely exaggerated and distorted close-up perspective that's perfect for arty, off-kilter shots. This Canon version offers an impressive 167-degree diagonal angle of view, along with a minimum focusing distance of 5.3 inches and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.3. As a result, subjects can sit as close as 0.7 inches from the lens's front element, making the lens ideal for extreme close-up shots and photos with a large depth of field. The lens also includes a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) that provides fast and quiet autofocusing, with a full-time manual focus override via a simple twist of the focus ring. And thanks to the lens's integral hood and super multilayer coating, you can easily block out extraneous light while minimizing flare and ghosting. Supplied with a gelatin filter holder at the rear, the 10mm lens carries Sigma's one-year warranty.
